Amid ongoing disruptions to maritime activity in the region, Saudi Arabia has launched a new initiative to streamline essential services for vessels, aiming to maintain smooth operations and reinforce supply chains.

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) announced that it will provide integrated services for ships operating across ports in the Eastern Region. The initiative is designed to ensure that vessels can access key supplies and operational support quickly and without delays.

The services cover a broad range of essential needs, including fuel, water, food, and medical supplies, as well as crew change arrangements and other logistical requirements necessary for maritime operations.

Mawani said it will leverage its infrastructure and capabilities across Eastern Region ports to deliver these services in a more coordinated and efficient manner. As part of the plan, the authority will also release updated lists of approved ship suppliers and fuel providers, enabling ship owners and operators to directly connect with verified service partners.

To further support the rollout, Mawani’s customer service and knowledge centre will operate круглосуточно (24/7), handling inquiries and facilitating service requests to improve responsiveness and service quality.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to ensure uninterrupted port operations, strengthen supply chain resilience, and support maritime traffic during uncertain times.

The move comes as regional tensions—including disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz—continue to affect shipping routes and energy markets, highlighting the growing importance of reliable and efficient port services.
