New Delhi: Delhi Police have registered two more FIRs against the son of a diplomat, who is accused of allegedly molesting a 5-year-old girl on a South Delhi school bus in August 2024. While the victim’s family claims the suspect has fled the country, police maintain that the investigation is ongoing.
The first FIR under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was filed on September 18, 2024, following a complaint from the girl's parents. Since then, two additional FIRs have been lodged against the suspect, indicating multiple allegations of misconduct.
Parents Allege Negligence, Suspect Missing
The girl’s father expressed frustration over the lack of swift action, stating, “Despite three FIRs for molesting and sexually assaulting other girls, the boy managed to escape.” He also accused the school of inaction, claiming that "multiple complaints from other parents were ignored."
Meanwhile, authorities are investigating whether the suspect has left the country.
MEA Involvement & Legal Developments
In an effort to bring the accused to justice, police contacted the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) regarding the case. Nearly five months later, in February 2025, the MEA formally requested the revocation of the suspect’s diplomatic immunity to facilitate prosecution.
The victim’s parents have also approached the Delhi High Court, filing a petition last month. The next hearing is scheduled for April 7.
