PUNE: Passengers on board SpiceJet flight SG-1080 from Goa to Pune experienced a midair scare on Tuesday evening after a window panel came loose during the journey. The aircraft, a Bombardier Q400, remained pressurized and landed safely, but the incident left several passengers anxious.

According to passenger Aatish Mishra, who was seated in row 8, "Two to three layers of the window panel just came off. There was no depressurization, but this shouldn't have happened—especially after the recent tragic plane crash."

SpiceJet downplayed the incident, stating that the dislodged part was a “non-structural trim component” meant for shading and not critical to the aircraft's integrity or passenger safety. “Cabin pressurization remained normal throughout the flight, and there was no impact on passenger safety,” the airline said in a statement.

The Q400 aircraft, which typically seats around 80 passengers, completed its flight without further issues. A SpiceJet spokesperson added that the loose window frame was fixed after landing, following standard maintenance procedures.
