NEW DELHI: The two-day Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave commenced here on Thursday, bringing together policymakers, academics, and industry leaders to explore how artificial intelligence can be deployed at scale across India’s education system. The event follows a closed-door AI roundtable chaired a day earlier by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan with founders of 10 Indian edtech startups.

Addressing participants, Pradhan said technology must go beyond merely expanding access to educational content and instead prioritise improving learning outcomes. Describing AI as a “powerful instrument of empowerment and inclusion,” he said its responsible deployment would be key to realising the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The roundtable held on Wednesday at IIT Delhi saw detailed discussions among policymakers, academics, and entrepreneurs on AI use cases aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

During the sessions, startups presented AI-first solutions spanning K-12 education, test preparation, language learning, upskilling, and vocational training. Participating companies included Arivihan, Fermi AI, and Seekho, among others.
