NEW DELHI: Two Pakistani terrorists were killed in an ongoing counter-terror operation in the Chhatru area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, the Indian Army confirmed on Saturday.
"Despite inclement weather, two more Pakistani terrorists have been eliminated in the ongoing operation at Chhatru, Kishtwar. A significant cache of war-like stores, including one AK and one M4 rifle, has been recovered," the Army said in an official statement.
Security forces have ramped up surveillance across the region, intensifying operations in response to increased terrorist activity. On Friday, patrols were extended to the Bhaderwah area in Doda district as part of broader efforts to track militant movement across the hilly terrain of the Jammu region.
In a separate incident, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) lost his life while the Army successfully foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor Sector, officials added.
