At least 51 people were killed on Monday when Israeli tank shells struck a crowd of civilians gathered for food aid in Gaza, according to local medics. The incident, one of the deadliest in recent weeks, occurred in Khan Younis, where thousands of desperate residents had assembled near aid trucks amid a growing humanitarian crisis.
Graphic videos shared on social media showed bodies strewn across a street, some badly disfigured, as bystanders scrambled to help the wounded. Witnesses reported that Israeli tanks fired at least two shells into the crowd, which had gathered along a road frequently used by aid convoys.
The Israeli military stated it was reviewing the incident but did not confirm details.
Separately, at least 14 more people were reported killed in Israeli airstrikes and gunfire across other parts of the besieged enclave, bringing Monday’s total death toll to at least 65, according to health officials in Gaza.
The deadly strike comes amid severe food shortages and escalating violence, with humanitarian agencies repeatedly warning of catastrophic conditions for Gaza's civilians.
