NEW DELHI: In a significant development, IndiGo will become the second Indian airline to offer flights to Europe and the UK, marking the end of Air India’s monopoly on these routes since the collapse of Jet Airways.

Starting July 1, IndiGo will launch thrice-weekly flights between Mumbai and Manchester. The very next day, the airline will also begin nonstop services between Mumbai and Amsterdam. Both routes will operate thrice a week using wet-leased Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners from Norse Atlantic, complete with an operating crew.

With IndiGo expanding its international operations by adding both self-operated and wet-leased long-haul flights, travelers flying to and from India will now have more options from Indian airlines for international routes.
