DALTONGANJ: In yet another attack highlighting the growing threat of illegal stone mining in Jharkhand’s Palamu district, a mob brutally assaulted five forest officers during a night patrol, reports MF Ahmad.
The incident occurred when the officers attempted to seize two tractors loaded with illegally mined boulders. This marks the third such attack in just over a month.
The injured officers sustained wounds to their head, chest, shoulders, ankles, and knees.
Satyam Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Medinirai, identified a key suspect behind the attacks. “This individual is involved in stealing rocks and boulders for stone-crushing plants. He mobilizes and incites mobs to attack forest teams,” he said.
