JAMMU: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on Thursday foiled an infiltration attempt along the International Border in the RS Pura sector of Jammu, apprehending a Pakistani intruder who had crossed into Indian territory.

According to officials, alert BSF troops observed suspicious movement near the border and kept the individual under surveillance. He was detained around 1:30 PM after crossing over. The intruder has been identified as Mohammad Akram, a resident of Kundanpur village in Sialkot, Pakistan. No incriminating material was recovered from his possession, and he is currently being interrogated by a joint team of security agencies.

This incident marks the second infiltration attempt in the area this month. Earlier, on September 8, BSF apprehended Siraj Khan, a resident of 27 Chak village, Bhalwal in Pakistan’s Sindh province, while he was attempting to cross the border fence in Suchetgarh tehsil. Following that incident, the BSF had formally lodged a protest with their Pakistani counterparts.

Security forces continue to maintain a high level of vigilance along the border to prevent any unauthorized crossings or infiltration attempts.
